OACUBO offers educational activities for professionals service higher education. These activities consist of 1/2-day and full-day seminar and workshops in various locations throughout the State of Ohio.

Annually, a one-and-half day conference is held in conjunction with the Annual Business Meeting of the Association membership.

Call for Presentations
The OACUBO Executive Board listens diligently to the membership of the association and would like more feedback regarding sessions or topics in which YOU, the member, would like to see.
Please submit your ideas of sessions within the online Call for Presentations form here.
All submitted ideas will be considered for either Webinar/Day Professional Development sessions or as sessions for the Annual Conference held every year in April.

OACUBO is pleased to announce its theme for the 94th Annual Meeting and Professional

 

Development Conference, scheduled for April 18-19, 2011 at Ohio Northern University. 

 

The theme is “Engaging Your New World”. 

 

As we look ahead, the next challenge for higher education business offices is our ability to adapt to a new operating environment.  Government regulatory change, fiscal constraints, and increased transparency and accountability will dictate how we approach our business every day.  Our focus will be on how we can embrace these realities and effectively engage our various constituencies. 

 

This year, we are tinkering with our schedule with the hope of providing more targeted information through additional break-out sessions and shorter general sessions.  We are also considering separate public versus private institution break-out sessions for certain topics.

 To assist our planning and to better tap in to the vast knowledge base of our institutional and associate members, we are initiating a Call for Presentations.  
 Among the topics we considering are:

·         Best Practices and Benchmarking – what does your Business Office do successfully that others may want to learn more about.

·         Campus Building and Construction

·         Compliance/Public Scrutiny/Transparency

·         Healthcare Reform

·         Faculty Training

·         Student Loan Rules

·         Dashboards

·         Trends in Business Offices

·         Form 990 Lessons

·         Purchasing Cards

 

We welcome any topics or ideas that will benefit higher education business offices.  And we welcome case studies from real experiences on campus.  Our hope is to provide a mix of presentations from both institutional and associate members.

 

In addition to the annual meeting, the call for presentations is also open for our quarterly webinars.

 

Our planning for the 2011 meeting is underway.  Please submit your ideas so that our membership can benefit from your experiences, ideas, and solutions.

 

Deadline for Annual Meeting topics is September 1, 2010.
